Adam Mattson

Video Coach, Director of Operations  

A life-long Detroiter who comes from Walled Lake, Adam Mattson joined the Whalers in 2005 as an intern, moved up to Video Coach in 2006-07 and was promoted to Director of Operations in the summer of 2007. Mattson is responsible for editing Whalers game video as well as assisting President, General Manager and Head Coach Mike Vellucci with administrative duties pertinent to the Whalers day-to-day operations.

Mattson is a relative of Carl Mattson, who was a trainer for the Detroit Red Wings from the late 1940’s through the 1950’s and worked with Gordie Howe, Ted Lindsay, Red Kelly, Marcel Pronovost and the rest of the great players from that era.
